Joey Bada$$ closed out the third annual STEEZ Day Festival with a major announcement, revealing that Capital STEEZ’s posthumous album will be dropping this year.
The event went down last night (July 7), with acts like A$AP Mob, The Underachievers, Ab-Soul, Saba, J.I.D, Jay IDK and Jazz Cartier on the bill. Following the super lit showing of love, Joey delighted the crowd with this tidbit. “You know it’s been five years. And we just want to say, on December 23, King Capital will officially be dropping,” Joey told those in attendance. “Y’all heard it here first. The most valid source.”
STEEZ sadly took his own life on Christmas Eve in 2012. The Pro Era crew has been honoring his name by putting on the annual music festival event, which features some of the hottest new artists in the game.
Along with the STEEZ album, Joey recently announced that Pro Era is working on a new project. “I think it’s a perfect time to since people think we all not doing anything. We’re working on the album. We’re gonna put out a Pro Era album real soon,” he said in an interview with Revolt. “We back on our shit. I ain’t gonna lie, there was a period of time where we were just really trying to figure it out. Everybody was young. Everybody was growing, becoming adults. We started this shit as kids. We kinda had to allow that grace period for all of us to really fall into ourselves and we’re definitely at that point now and we coming back stronger than ever. This album sounding crazy. I don’t even want to overhype it or do anything, but great stuff. for sure.” article via: XXL Magazine
